With the abundance of computing power in processors today it is easy to fall into the trap of implementation without thought of performance. It is something I think all programmers do, myself especially.
I have been talking for a while now about how I would like to create an API of some sort. I want to start being a contributor to the open source community and develop some useful open source utilities.
I was hired a couple of months ago to build a validation system for a legacy web-app built on Java Servlet technology. The app was a gigantic system with many existing web forms.
I have a problem. I will admit it. I am addicted to book buying. I must spend thousands of dollars a year on books easily. My Indigo card is in the front slot of my wallet. It’s rare when I don’t have Amazon or Chapters open in my browser. I can’t even pass by an Indigo or any bookstore for that metter without going in and most likely buying something, usually about some programming topic.
XML is neat.
I’d like to talk a bit about a cool little feature of Wezzle that nobody knows about. Wezzle reads all of its information from XML. Neat!

Recently I have been getting heavily into the wild world of web programming. Web programming is a large, dynamic and exciting field that is currently in high demand. More and more companies are changing their business models to offer subscription web services. It is certainly an exciting time to be a web developer. There is a lot of neat stuff available and a TON of ongoing development. I am enjoying it immensely, however, there are WAY WAY WAY too many web languages available.
